Decadent Hot Chocolate (Edit recipe)

This hot chocolate is thick, rich, and delicious. If you enjoy a sweeter hot chocolate, add more maple sugar. The Hu gems are dark chocolate, and using 2 tablespoons of sugar keeps the drink less sweet, which I enjoy. If you have little ones, more maple sugar will be needed. Adding whipped cream helps add a little sweetness as well.

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. In a thick-bottomed, medium-sized saucepan on low heat, add the almond milk, coconut milk, vanilla extract, maple sugar(start with 2 tablespoons), sea salt, collagen peptides, and Hu gems.
  2. While continuously whisking, warm the mixture up and combine the melted chocolate and milk. Heat the mixture until it's hot, but do not boil it.
  3. Remove the hot chocolate from the heat and add more maple sugar if you like it sweeter.
  4. Top with whipped cream, marshmallows, sprinkles, and/or candy canes.
