this version of a burger & fries is unlike any other. you are getting loads of superfoods from my seafood cakes (hello sardines 👋) + tons of fiber-rich ingredients (avocados, beans, jicama, & more). make sure to keep the agua close, because this dish packs the heat!!! if you don't like as much spice, just back off on the chipotle powder, regardless, this meal is oh so delicious!

mexican crab cakes

  1. add all ingredients to a bowl and combine.
  2. refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. using a ¼ cup, make 20 patties.
  4. heat a skillet or griddle to medium-high heat (~400) & add any type of fat to pan.
  5. fry patties for 3-5 minutes on each side or until crispy.

mango, avocado, & black bean salsa

  1. in a bowl, combine all ingredients & mix well.
  2. refrigerate until ready to serve.

crazy cotija chipotle sauce

  1. in a food processor, combine all ingredients; adding water as needed to reach desired sauce consistency.
  2. refrigerate until ready to serve.

put it all together

  1. first make a batch of the BEST jicama fries (or sub for any fry of your choice!)
  2. in a lettuce wrap, add mexican superfood cake & top with mango, avocado, & black bean salsa.
  3. then add jicama fries to your bowl.
  4. sprinkle with cotija cheese, cilantro, & crazy cotija chipotle sauce.
