Cedar Plank Cheese Bake with Sprouted Pecans
This cedar plank cheese bake is my cozy twist on a classic cheese board. The cheese melts right into the warm cedar, picking up a subtle smoky flavor while those sprouted pecans from Lark Ellen Farms toast to golden perfection.
It’s not really a recipe, more like a party trick you’ll want to pull out anytime you’re entertaining. Soak your cedar plank, pile on your favorite melty cheeses (I go for Gruyère, blue, and smoked Gouda), scatter on the pecans, and bake until everything is gooey. A drizzle of honey at the end ties it all together.
Serve it with toasty sourdough, crackers, or even a few fresh pears. It’s simple, rustic, and you just can’t go wrong with melty cheese.

- Soak the cedar plank in hot water for about 15 minutes while you heat the oven to 350°F.
- Shred your cheeses and pile them right onto the plank.
- Scatter the pecans around the cheese so they toast while it melts.
- Set the plank on a baking sheet (in case the cheese drips) and bake for about 10 minutes, or until everything looks golden and gooey.
- Drizzle with honey the second it comes out of the oven and serve warm with toasty sourdough or your favorite crackers.
