🗞️ FoodSocial in the News: Net Influencer Highlights Our Community

Net Influencer recently featured FoodSocial, spotlighting how our platform connects creators, brands, and food lovers while supporting creativity and collaboration across the food space. The article shares insights into how we empower creators, build meaningful partnerships, and shape the future of food content and commerce.

Bill, our co-founder and CEO, shares how he has learned quite a few things in the social commerce space after fifteen years as a creator and ten as a brand. While times, tech, and trends change, the one constant is the importance of community.

The headlines of the Net Influencer feature say it all and capture the essence of FoodSocial beautifully. From Solving for Connection in the Creator Economy to Building a Platform Without Borders, The Art of Partnerships, The Future of Food Creation, and Expanding the Recipe, each section reflects how we are creating real opportunities for creators, fostering meaningful collaboration with brands, and shaping the way people experience food content.

These days, other than sprinkling AI into everything (even things that don’t need it), “community” is a fizzy word that marketers and platforms use to spice up their offering or perception. However in the absence of concrete examples, it’s just a buzzword used for virtue signaling.

The article offers a closer look at the vision behind FoodSocial and how our community is redefining what it means to share, discover, and connect around food. They say content is king. But if that is true, then maybe community should be queen. And just as in chess, the queen is more powerful.

That’s why we’re so excited to be the first community to bring recipes to Shop’s hundreds of millions of shoppers. Shopify’s rapidly growing Shop app is now rolling out a new wave of Minis — immersive commerce experiences. After being invited to join their early access program, we’ve now become the very first merchant Mini to go live.

The FoodSocial Recipe Mini is a streamlined version of FoodSocial that lives directly within the Shop app. Shop’s audience can now explore thousands of recipes to find a new favorite dish, creator, or product. Shop users now get served up video recipes, personalized recommendations, a new daily recipe of the day and more. Read more about our Shop Mini rollout here!

And when it comes to what Net Influencer calls the art of partnerships, many social platforms talk about authentic content, but FoodSocial treats authenticity as a true design principle. “Engagement is always driven by authenticity,” Bill says. “You can’t engineer it, but you can engineer the conditions for it.” Our Spring into Flavor campaign did just that, helping build the relationships between the creators and participating brands, so that there can be that genuine collaboration.
