Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Make the special sauce by combining all of the ingredients in a medium sized mixing bowl. Mix until fully combined and chill until ready to serve.
  2. Butter one side of the sliced sourdough bread and place on a large frying pan.
  3. Add the sliced cheese to two of the slices of bread.
  4. Make your burgers by forming the ground beef into 4 patties.
  5. Generously top with the pink salt and cracked pepper. Set aside.
  6. Add the sliced onion and olive oil to a medium sized frying pan and sauté over medium heat. Stir the onions often until they are golden brown and soft.
  7. Add the mushrooms to the onions and continuing to sauté, turn the burner down to low.
  8. In a small bowl add the coconut aminos, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, and coconut aminos. Mix well and add to the onions and mushrooms.
  9. When the coconut aminos have caramelized, add the mushroom and onions to the top of the cheese on your sliced bread.
  10. Heat your grill to 400° – 450°F.
  11. Place your burger patties on the grill for 5 minutes, then flip and grill for an additional 5 minutes for medium cooked burgers.
  12. While your burgers are grilling, start browning the bread over medium low heat.
  13. Remove the burger patties from the gill, and place them on top of the two slices of bread with cheese.
  14. Once the slices of bread are golden brown and the cheese has melted, transfer them to a plate.
  15. Top the patties with the special sauce and lettuce.
  16. Top the patties with the other two slices of bread and cut in half so there are 4 patty melts.
  17. Serve and ENJOY!
