Christmas wasn't Christmas in my house unless we had these greek cookies. These were truly a staple in my house and when my mother would bring them home we would absolutely devour them.

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. in a sauce pan, add you water, sugar, spices & orange.
  2. bring to a boil, then reduce simmer for 10-12 mins.
  3. let it cool and transfer to bowl and store in the refrigerator.
  4. in a large bowl, add orange juices, oil, spices and mix it.
  5. add your flours, salt and leavening agent.
  6. mix until just combined but do not over-mix because this could cause cookies to split in the oven.
  7. using a small cookie scoop, roll into a ball and shape to desired shape.
  8. bake at 375F for 20-22 mins.
  9. once your cookies are done baking, place them into cold syrup for 10-20 seconds then plate them.
  10. drizzle honey and chopped walnuts.
  11. for best result, refrigerate cookies, its best to eat them cold.
