Easy Lofty Biscuits
As much as I love my White Cheddar n' Chive Biscuits, sometimes you just want a straight up, nothing special added, warm outta the oven biscuit! It's a classic comfort food and one we've been enjoying on most Sunday mornings lately. Waiting long enough to let them cool so you can gently pry it apart is tough without burning your fingers is the hardest part of this recipe! You'll notice there is no butter in this recipe, only cream...don't worry, that is correct! That cream provides all you'll need, promise! Need a gluten free version -- I got you! Simply leave out the cheese and chives!
Ingredients
- 2 cups2 cups2 cups All Purpose Flour, can sub Primal Palate gluten free flour 1:1
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Grain-Free Baking Powder - Otto's Naturals
- .75 tsp.75 tsp.75 tsp Real Salt - Redmond
- 1.5 cups1.5 cups1.5 cups Heavy Cream (Whipping Cream), room temperature, + 2 T for brushing on top, can sub dairy free as needed

Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Preheat your oven to 450° - line a standard baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Add flour, baking powder and salt to a medium sized mixing bowl, toss together with your fingers until well combined,
- Pour whipping cream into dry ingredients and mix gently until well incorporated, being careful not to over mix.
- Place dough on a lightly floured work surface and shape/press into a circle that is at least 1-1¼” tall. Use a sharp knife and cut straight down and cut into 6 sections. Do NOT use a sawing motion, you want one cut down.
- Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, 2” apart. Brush tops of each biscuit with more cream and a little sprinkle of kosher salt if desired.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let them sit for just a few minutes, then enjoy! I like to add some butter and a drizzle of honey!
