Strawberry coulis is a great alternative to strawberry compote. It is a wonderful way to add strawberry flavor to cakes, ice cream, cheesecake, and more. It requires only three ingredients and a few minutes of your time to prepare. It is super easy and a lovely addition to your favorite recipes.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Strawberries, (if using frozen - 18oz frozen will yield 16 oz defrosted)
  • 3 Tbsp Cane Sugar
  • 1.5 tsp Lemon Juice, (lime juice will work as well)

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. If you are using fresh strawberries, prep them by hulling them and cutting them into halves or even quarters. If using frozen strawberries, defrost them, drain them and halve or quarter them.
  2. Place the prepped strawberries along with the sugar and juice into a blender. Blend the ingredients on high for 1 minute.
  3. Once done blending, strain the coulis through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds.
  4. Store the coulis in an airtight container. It will remain fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  5. This recipe should yield you 1.5 cups of coulis.
