This Cosmopolitan Cranberry Sauce is a grown-up take on the holiday staple. The vodka really heightens the sauce’s flavor in a way that, sorry kiddos, only us big peeps will appreciate. It’s totally make-ahead, so you can whip it up early and focus on the important stuff later (like gravy panic).

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, and water.
  2. Over medium heat, bring to a boil, stirring often to dissolve the sugar.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring often, until thick and jam-like, about 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and transfer to a bowl, stirring occasionally until the mixture is tepid, about 30 minutes.
  5. Stir in the vodka and orange liqueur.
  6. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, at least 2 hours.
  7. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

The sauce can be made up to 2 weeks ahead.  Give it a good stir before serving.
