Crispy “Cheesy” Broccoli
The first time I made these, I asked my husband to take them out of the oven for me while I tended to something... When I got to the kitchen, they were gone!
Broccoli is part of the cruciferous vegetable family which all have flowers with four petals that botanists describe as resembling a cross-crux in latin; hence the name cruciferous.
Broccoli is best known for it's ability to prevent cancer by protecting cells from free-radical damage and carcinogens.
It is the best vegetable source of calcium just 1/2 cup daily exceeds the recommended dietary allowance of vitamins C and E.

- 2 - 32 - 32 - 3 Broccoli, whole crowns
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Nutritional Yeast

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Preheat oven to 450F
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut 2-3 crowns of broccoli into bite sized pieces.
- Melt coconut oil and coat pieces of broccoli. Sprinkle with nutritional yeast and salt and pepper. Feel free to get creative and add your favourite spices. We often use our homemade cajun blend or taco spice.
- Spread evenly on baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes or until crispy.
- Serve as an appetizer or a side dish.
