Date Caramel Apple
You loved my mini date caramel apple creation so much a few months back, I made a version using whole apples! These Date Caramel Apples are vegan, gluten-free, and refined-sugar free. So fun and easy to make - no actual caramel required.
Ingredients
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole organic Apple
- 12 - 9 whole12 - 9 whole12 - 9 whole Medjool Dates, pitted
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup 100% Unsweetened Chocolate Chips, I used vegan and date sweetened
- 0.5 Tbsp0.5 Tbsp0.5 Tbsp Avocado Oil, or coconut oil

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Take your pitted dates, open them up and lay flat on a plate or unbleached parchment (sticky side up) in a circular shape.
- Place a sheet of unbleached parchment paper over them and using a rolling pin or large glass cup, flatten dates.
- Remove parchment and place clean and dry apple right in the middle of the dates.
- Fold up all sides of the dates and cover apple, using your fingers to spread and stretch out dates.
- Place a bamboo skewer in the middle of the apple. Dip date covered apple in melted chocolate + oil and add toppings of choice. I like to add chopped pecans!
- Allow to set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or more, slice and ENJOY!
