  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a large bowl. Whisk in cocoa powder until smooth. Let cool 5 minutes.
  3. Add both sugars to butter mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Mix in eggs and vanilla until smooth and glossy.
  5. In separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients in three parts, stirring just until combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chunks.
  8. Scoop dough into 3-tablespoon portions and place 3 inches apart on baking sheets.
  9. Bake 10 minutes. Cookies should look slightly underbaked.
  10. Remove from oven and gently press each cookie with bottom of measuring cup.
  11. Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to cooling rack.
