Frothy Vanilla Superfood Steamer (Edit recipe)

This recipe may seem quite basic, which it is, but it’s full of childhood memories for me. It’s a recreation of what my mom would often make for my siblings and I after a cold day out in the snow growing up in the Denver area. Adding the boost of collagen infused with superfood mushrooms and using an actual vanilla bean makes it even more enjoyable. This one sings of comfort to me.

Ingredients

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. With a small sharp knife, lay the vanilla bean on a cutting board and cut in half lengthwise, then spread open up both halves. Scrape the caviar (seeds) out of both sides with the edge of the knife and place seeds and empty bean in a small saucepan.
  2. To that same pan, add remaining ingredients (including the bean pod for more infused flavor) whisking ingredients to combine. Warm and stir slowly over medium heat to a gentle simmer and warmed through. No need to come to a full boil or you could scald the milk and infuse the overall flavor. Have a quick taste and add more syrup and/or salt to taste as needed.
  3. Remove bean pod then pour into two 12-14 oz mugss, grab your frother and get that elixir all frothy! While frothing isn’t necessary, it sure is fun!
  4. Sip and enjoy!

Notes

You can sub ⅛ tsp vanilla powder for the vanilla bean or even a splash of vanilla extract, still very tasty!
