Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Begin by mixing up all of the ingredients for the sauce. Mix until smooth. You may need to add a bit more water to the sauce right before serving if you'd like the sauce more runny.
- Next, remove drumsticks from packaging. Rinse each drumstick and pat dry with a paper towel. Place each dry drumstick in a large bowl or on a large plate.
- Mix up all ingredients in the "chicken drumsticks mixture" section, then set aside.
- Next whisk together your "Buttermilk mixture" ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Begin by taking a drumstick and rolling it in the flour mixture. Make sure to coat all over evenly.
- Then drop it into your buttermilk mixture and coat evenly.
- You will repeat the dipping process one more time with each mixture.
- I do all of my drumstick dipping at the same time so I can have them all prepped and ready for frying, but you can also dip as you fry and do both as you go.
- Pour your frying oil into your pot and make sure to keep the oil temperature around 325ºF so you can cook your chicken drumsticks all the way through without burning the outside of your drumstick! You will fry for a few minutes each side(depending on how large your drumsticks are). I use a meat thermometer while frying so I can constantly check internal temperature. For your chicken, you will want it to be at least 160ºF internal temperature.
- When your drumstick is done cooking, you can remove it to a plate with a paper towel to catch some of the extra drippings.
- Serve drumsticks warm with dipping sauce.
- Enjoy!
