Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Apples
This grilled cheese with apples is the perfect combination of creamy, salty, tart and sweet. Feel free to use your favorite cheeses and any variety of apple works with this delicious elevated grilled cheese sandwich.
Ingredients
- 888 Bread, slices, any kind
- 4 oz4 oz4 oz Cheddar Cheese, thinly sliced, or any variety such as mozzarella or gruyere
- 111 Apple, Gala, medium, cored and thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Butter, Unsalted, softened
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Spread butter on one side of all 8 pieces of bread then place upside down on a large cutting board. Top one piece of bread with half of the cheese then add apple slices before topping with remaining cheese and second piece of bread.
- Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium-high. With the butter side facing out, cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Slice in half to serve.
