Kimchi Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Pan-fried to golden brown buttery perfect, this delicious kimchi grilled cheese sandwich is the grown-up version of everyone’s childhood favorite. Melty cheese, sweet and spicy gochujang, tangy kimchi, and savoury bacon all sandwiched together between two hearty slices of whole grain sourdough bread.
Ingredients
- 2 pieces2 pieces2 pieces Sourdough Bread, *or bread of choice
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Salted Butter
- 0.5 Tbsp0.5 Tbsp0.5 Tbsp Gochujang (red chili paste), *to taste
- 2 pieces2 pieces2 pieces Turkey Bacon, cooked
- 0.333 cup0.333 cup0.333 cup Kimchi, roughly chopped
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 5 sprigs5 sprigs5 sprigs fresh Basil, roughly chopped

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Spread the butter on the outside of both pieces of bread and the gochujang on the inside.
- On one slice of bread, layer on the cheese, kimchi, bacon, and basil and top with the remaining piece of bread butter side up.
- Place the sandwich in a skillet and begin to cook until golden on both sides.
- Top with a sprinkle of coarse sea salt and basil. Enjoy!
