This “tropical forward” blend pairs a couple premade blends from Primal Palate which made sense since they already had many of the flavors I was going for. The star here is the FURIKAKE - which is basically UMAMI in dry form! It’s used abundantly in many dishes we enjoy when we visit Maui. So coming up with a blend that was versatile and packed with flavor has been years in the making. Recipe makes a little over 1/2 cup or around 26 tsp.

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Add all the ingredients to a small mason jar, securing the lid, then give it a good shake till all ingredients are combined. Store at room temperature and enjoy on all the things!
  2. Alternately, add all ingredients to a small bowl, stirring until fully combined. Pour into an airtight jar and store at room temperature.

Notes

When shopping for FURIKAKE be sure to read those labels! Many come loaded with MSG and fillers you don't necessarily need. Look for brands that have minimal ingredients, most importantly...sesame seeds, dried fish (bonito), seaweed (nori) and sometimes salt. It's also very easy to make your own, so we've linked to one we came up with years ago in the recipe description above.
