Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. If making puff pastry homemade, I have put guideline ingredients for 4 sheets above - but it is best to google a recipe and use any that does not include sugar.
  2. To prepare the almonds, roughly chop and roast in the oven at 180°C for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. In a large bowl, mix beef mince, garlic, carrot, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, and toasted almonds. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Cut puff pastry sheets in half to make rectangles 3 inches wide. Roll the filling into 1-inch thick logs and place them along the edge of the pastry. Brush the pastry edge with whisked egg, then roll tightly to seal.
  5. Slice & bake; Cut into desired lengths. Place on a lined baking tray, brush the tops with egg, and sprinkle with poppy or sesame seeds if using.
  6. Bake at 200°C for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Let them cool slightly and enjoy—perfect for dipping in a homemade relish or mustard.
