Healthy Shark Punch! (Dye free) (Edit recipe)

Yes you can still celebrate the fun festive treats with your kiddos without those artificial dyes or high fructose corn syrup found in traditional sodas! I used my homemade gummies and blue spirulina for color. My kids (and I) loved them!

Homemade Gummy Fish

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. For homemade gummies: process strawberries into puréed
  2. Heat puree on stove top over low heat with a splash of juice
  3. In a bowl combined 2 tbsp gelatin & 1/4 cup juice and stir until thickened
  4. Once stove is warm, add your gelatin mixture into the strawberries and stir until dissolved
  5. Pour into gummy molds and place in the fridge for an hour
  6. I used Olipop in tropical punch flavor (I also tested this with Zevia brand "sodas"), and poured 1 can into a large glass, added 1/8 tsp blue spirulina (can add more for deeper blue), and froth or shake it together
  7. Place gummy fish and ice in a glass, then pour blue drink into your glass, garnish with more fish, and enjoy!

Notes

This made a very small batch of my homemade gummies. If your kids love homemade gummies as much as mine you can double the gummy recipe to have them on hand as a snack themselves!
