Homemade Taco Seasoning
This taco seasoning recipe is so delicious, so easy, healthier than many store-bought seasonings, and more cost effective! Once you start making your own taco seasoning, you’ll never go back to store-bought. It is so versatile, use it in tacos, chili, burrito bowls, chicken quesadillas and more!
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Chili Powder
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Ground Cumin
- 4 tsp4 tsp4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Onion Powder
- 4 tsp4 tsp4 tsp Dried Mexican Oregano
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Paprika
- 1.5 Tbsp1.5 Tbsp1.5 Tbsp Salt
- 0.5 Tbsp0.5 Tbsp0.5 Tbsp Black Pepper

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Combine all taco seasoning ingredients in a small bowl or glass jar.
- Use a small whisk or spoon to mix the spices together until everything is well combined.
- Use right away or store in an airtight container.
- Add about 3 Tbsp for every pound of ground beef.
Notes
*This should yield about 1.5 cups of seasoning, enough for 8 lbs of ground beef. *Feel free to omit the salt if you prefer to add salt as you are cooking meat, or add more if desired. *You can use regular oregano if you can’t find mexican oregano, I love the flavor mexican oregano gives!
