Homemade Toaster Strudels (Or Pop tarts)
These pastries are absolutely delicious and only take a few simple ingredients. They’re much healthier than buying the ones from the store, plus the icing is packed with protein. It helps kick the sugar craving for your kids while also feeding them nutrient dense food for breakfast. This would pair perfectly with a side of eggs and they won’t want any store-bought one after these.

- Pre heat your oven to 375.
- On a baking sheet, line it with parchment paper. Take your pieces of pup, pastry and place them on the baking sheet. They should be cut into rectangle pieces. Place a spoonful of the jam on top of the rectangle, and spread it evenly. Leave about a centimeter or two of room from the edges so you can press the dough into the other.
- Place the leftover pastry dough on top of the jam. Using a fork, press down on the edges, so that both those stick together. Poke a few holes on the top of the pastry.
- Place pan in the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown all around.
- While pastries are cooling, add your heavy cream, protein powder, powdered sugar and red food coloring to a bowl. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Once the pastries have cooled, spread the frosting on top. Top with sprinkles if you want.
- Enjoy!
