This delicious minty Oreo bark comes together quickly and is sure to be a crowd pleaser! Between the bitter and sweet from the chocolate, mint from the Oreos and peppermint marshmallows, and the subtle caramel tones from the jaggery, this will become your new favorite dessert in no time. I love when a recipe is customizable to taste and this recipe does exactly that! Don't like dark chocolate? Then swap for another kind! Can't find jaggery? You can use brown sugar or palm sugar instead. Best of all: this recipe is really interactive, so if you're looking for a fun activity, look no further!

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Prepare a parchment paper lined baking dish or pan and set aside.
  2. Take a double boiler (or a medium sauce pan and glass bowl) and melt chocolate chips until smooth, stirring with a silicone spatula consistently.
  3. Place a thin layer of crushed Oreos on to the parchment paper.
  4. Pour a thin layer of melted chocolate onto the crushed Oreos and place a layer of whole GF Mint Oreos on top of the chocolate, filling in the gaps between the chocolate and crushed Oreo. It should look like one big patchwork of crush and whole Oreos.
  5. Pour the remainder of the chocolate on top and smooth out with a spatula.
  6. Add your M&Ms, peppermint marshmallows, and sprinkles on top. Sprinkle with a touch of jaggery.
  7. Pop in the freezer for at least an hour (two is ideal).
  8. When the bark has set, remove from the freezer and cut into pieces.
  9. Enjoy!

Notes

If you don't have a baking dish or pan with high walls, you can also make this work on a plain old cookie sheet! When working with the chocolate, work quickly; if the chocolate cools it will harden and things won't stick. We put down crushed Oreos first to make the bark more of a patchwork and less uniform. This also means we can use less chocolate! Make sure your bark is fully set before cutting into it, otherwise it will fall apart. And don't forget to use a sturdy knife to cut this bark; unlike others, this bark is thick and if you use your hands, you could hurt yourself. Reminder: GF Oreos contain oats!
