The easiest treat to make your kids are these pecan oat bars. They will think they are dessert, but really, it’s a simple recipe that is extra nutritious! They’re so easy to make and you can easily swap out the pecans for something else your kids love, like chocolate chips.

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease an 8x8 pan. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, add your bananas, eggs, oat flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract. Mix together. Fold in your desired add-ins… this recipe has pecans and cinnamon.
  4. Press into your baking dish. Place in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes. Let it cool.
  5. While the bars are cooling, add your dates, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract and almond butter to a blender. Blend until a caramel paste is formed. Spread evenly over the bars. Enjoy!
