Ingredients
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Kohl Rabi, peeled and diced into cubes
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Red Lentils (Masoor Dal), washed and drained
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Avocado Oil, or any cooking oil
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Mustard Seeds, whole

- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Cumin Seed, Whole, whole
- 5 cups5 cups5 cups Water
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt, Salt to taste accordingly

- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Turmeric Powder

- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Lemon, lemon juice (optional)

- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Allspice, Ground, home made spice mix powder

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Heat the oil in an instant pot using the saute' setting. Add the mustard seeds and let them sputter, followed by the cumin seeds. Stir in the diced kohlrabi, washed yellow lentils, home made spice blend, salt and 4 to 5 cups of water. Close the lid and pressure cook on high for 10 minutes. Allow the pressure to release naturally of 10 minutes then stir well. Adjust the salt to taste, garnish with fresh cilantro (optional) and a squeeze of lemon juice if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
Only dry roast the ingredients for home made spice blend and this powder can be used for any other soups as well. 2 table spoon of coriander seeds 1 table spoon of cumin seeds 1 table spoon of whole pepper 1/2 tea spoon of whole Mustard seeds 1/2 tea spoon of fenugreek seeds 1 tea spoon of turmeric powder 20 curry leaves Grind everything into a fine powder and store in an airtight jar. Store it out side for at least 2 months.
