Smoked Cheddar, Jalapeno and Cranberry Dip
If you are looking for a fruity, tangy, spicy, creamy, cheesy dip... look no further! This Smoked Cheddar, Jalapeño and Cranberry Dip hits all the flavor profiles and comes together in less than 30 mins. Paired with crackers or pita chips, it is the perfect appetizer for game nights, parties or a night in. This dip doesn't have to be just a holiday season dip and can be enjoyed year long by using frozen whole cranberries. Just make the cranberry sauce, layer it between a cream cheese mixture, top with lots of smoked cheddar cheese and bake until the cheese is melty & bubbly. It is that easy!
Ingredients
Cranberry Sauce
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup fresh Cranberries, or frozen, whole
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Orange Juice
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Pure Maple Syrup
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Jalapeño, deseeded and chopped
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Thyme
Cheese Mixture
- 8 oz8 oz8 oz Full Fat Cream Cheese
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Aged Cheddar Cheese, smoked variety, shredded and divided into half
- 1 clove1 clove1 clove Garlic, minced
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Salt

- 0.5 whole0.5 whole0.5 whole Jalapeño, sliced, for garnish
- 2 - 3 cups2 - 3 cups2 - 3 cups Pita Chips

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Meanwhile prepare the Cranberry sauce and cream cheese mixture.
- For the Cranberry sauce - In a saucepan, add all cranberry sauce ingredients and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and allow cranberries to burst. Smash cranberries with a fork and heat until the sauce has thickened. Turn off the heat and set the sauce aside.
- For the Cream cheese mixture: Combine together cream cheese, ½ of the smoked cheddar cheese, minced garlic and salt.
- To assemble: Spread the cream cheese mixture in the bottom of an oven-safe dish. Then pour over the cranberry sauce followed by the remaining half of the smoked cheddar.
- Bake in the 400°F preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling.
- Garnish with sliced jalapeño. Serve with your favorite chips or crackers. Enjoy!
