Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls
These cinnamon rolls are absolutely incredible! You do not need the refined sugar to enjoy this amazing classic! ENJOY!
Ingredients
- 0.666 cup0.666 cup0.666 cup Heavy Cream (Whipping Cream)
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Butter, Salted, Melted
- 111 Egg
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Coconut Sugar
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Sourdough Starter, Homemade, Fed, Active, and Bubbly
- 2.5 cups2.5 cups2.5 cups All Purpose Flour
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Butter, Salted, Melted
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Coconut Sugar
- 3 tsp3 tsp3 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
- 0.25 tsp0.25 tsp0.25 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Vanilla Bean Powder
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Butter, Salted, Softened, Room Temp
- 4 oz4 oz4 oz Cream Cheese, Full Fat, Plain
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Powdered Monkfruit Sweetener - Lakanto, Monk Fruit Powdered Sugar
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Heavy Cream (Whipping Cream)
- 0.25 tsp0.25 tsp0.25 tsp Vanilla Bean Powder

Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- In a stand mixing bowl add the cream, butter, egg, starter, coconut sugar, and salt.
- Mix until fully combined using a spatula.
- Add the flour and mix until fully combined.
- Place a wet towel over the mixing bowl and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Knead the dough with a dough hook on medium speed for 5 minutes.
- Shape the dough in a ball and cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap.
- Let the dough sit out on the counter overnight.
- In the morning press the dough out with your hands on the counter in the shape of a 16 x 11 rectangle.
- Make the filling by adding all of the ingredients to a medium sized bowl.
- Mix the filling until fully combined and evenly sprinkle on the rectangle shaped dough.
- Carefully roll the dough into a log.
- Evenly cut the dough into 8 rolls.
- Heavily grease a glass pie dish with avocado oil.
- Place the 8 rolls evenly in the dish so both of the cinnamon sides are exposed on the bottom and the top.
- Place the dish in the oven with the door closed and turned off.
- Allow for the dough to rise and double in size. This should take about 2 hours.
- Remove the dish from the oven and preheat to 350F.
- Bake the rolls for 35 – 40 minutes until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, make the topping.
- Add all of the ingredients to the stand mixer bowl and mix on low until fully combined.
- When the rolls are done baking add the topping. Evenly spread on each roll with a spatula or a butter knife.
