Gluten-Free Eggnog French Toast
A delicious french toast using an eggnog custard.
Ingredients
- 4-64-64-6 Gluten-free Bread, Slices (Can sub in regular brioche, challah, or sourdough bread)
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Eggnog
- 111 Egg, large
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- .125 tsp.125 tsp.125 tsp Nutmeg
- .125 tsp.125 tsp.125 tsp Salt
- 3-4 Tbsp3-4 Tbsp3-4 Tbsp Salted Butter, can use unsalted
- 2-3 Tbsp2-3 Tbsp2-3 Tbsp Pure Maple Syrup

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- In a medium size shallow bowl mix the eggnog, egg, cinnamon, nutmeg, and the salt until combined really well.
- If the bread is not pre-sliced, then slice it into thick pieces.
- Dip the bread into the eggnog mixture and let it sit for a minute to absorb it. Then flip the bread and let it sit again. If the bread is thinly sliced you can just dip and flip right away.
- Add the butter to a large skillet and fry the bread until it's golden brown on both sides.
- Remove to a plate and repeat with the other bread slices.
- Drizzle the bread with maple syrup as desired.
Notes
If the bread is sliced on the thicker side let it sit in the eggnog mixture for a minute. You want the bread to absorb most of the liquid so it's nice and soft and not dry. For gluten-free the Greenlite Classic Artisan Bread is a great option, I like to cut it on the diagonal. You can also use Canyon Bakehouse bread.
