Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- 1. Place the dates in a bowl and cover with hot water for 10 minutes to soften them, then drain the water. This makes it easier for blending.
- 2. In a high speed blender add the milk, 1 chocolate square, dates, cocoa powder, tahini & sea salt.
- 3. Blend until smooth, this may take a few times if your blender is not high speed.
- 4. Pour into a saucepan and warm on low heat, stirring as needed with a whisk until is nice and thick.
- 5. If it seems too thick you can add a tablespoon of water.
- 6. Pour into a mug and if desired drizzle another 1/4 tsp of tahini on top.
Notes
A high speed blender is recommended for this, however if you have a regular blender it may take a few times for it to become smooth. If you would like the hot chocolate less sweet use 3 dates instead. Tahini can become overpowering so taste it before drizzling the last 1/4 tsp on top. I used 1 chocolate square from a 70% Lindt bar. If it seems too thick you can add a little bit of water at a time, keep in mind the water will lessen the taste of the hot chocolate so be careful adding it..
