Vegan Tofu Deli Meat
Learn how to make your own vegan deli meat with this easy recipe using tofu, vegetable broth, and basic seasonings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb1 lb1 lb Tofu, extra firm, thinly sliced
- 250 ml250 ml250 ml Water, warm
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Vegetable Bouillon, (I use Better Than Bouillon Vegetable Base*)
- .5 tsp.5 tsp.5 tsp Thyme, Dried

- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast, (or 1 tsp msg)

- .25 tsp.25 tsp.25 tsp Paprika

- .25 tsp.25 tsp.25 tsp Garlic Powder, or 1 clove, grated

- .25 tsp.25 tsp.25 tsp Onion Powder

- 111 Bay Leaf

- 1 pinch1 pinch1 pinch Nutmeg
- 1 pinch1 pinch1 pinch Black Pepper

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Add bouillon and seasonings to a pot. Pour warm water over and stir to dissolve the bouillon.
- Add tofu to the pot and heat on medium low. Gently simmer until most of the liquid is gone, about 20 minutes.Tip: Don't boil the tofu. Tofu is delicate so it will break if you boil it.
- Taste and add salt/pepper if desired. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
