Chocolate Date Hearts (Gluten Free)
These chocolate-covered date hearts are the cutest! 🥰 They’re stuffed with peanut butter, but if you need a nut-free option, swap in sun butter or leave it out altogether. Ingredients
- 12 pieces12 pieces12 pieces Medjool Dates
- 3/4 cup3/4 cup3/4 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Coconut Oil, refined
- 2-3 Tbsp2-3 Tbsp2-3 Tbsp Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Sprinkles
- 1 pinch1 pinch1 pinch Maldon Sea Salt Flakes

- Open your dates in half. If needed, remove the stem and pit. Gently pull apart the two sides to form a heart shape.
- Spread a little peanut butter into the center of each half.
- In a small microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate and coconut oil. Melt in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until smooth.
- Coat each date in the melted chocolate, then sprinkle with a pinch of salt and sprinkles.
- Place in the fridge until the chocolate sets. Remove from the fridge for 10-15 minutes before enjoying for the best texture.
Notes
Adding coconut oil helps thin the chocolate, making it smoother and easier to coat the dates. If you’re not a fan of the taste or smell of coconut (like me!), opt for refined coconut oil—it’s processed to remove both and leaving you with a neutral flavor.
