These chocolate-covered date hearts are the cutest! 🥰 They’re stuffed with peanut butter, but if you need a nut-free option, swap in sun butter or leave it out altogether. Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Open your dates in half. If needed, remove the stem and pit. Gently pull apart the two sides to form a heart shape.
  2. Spread a little peanut butter into the center of each half.
  3. In a small microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate and coconut oil. Melt in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until smooth.
  4. Coat each date in the melted chocolate, then sprinkle with a pinch of salt and sprinkles.
  5. Place in the fridge until the chocolate sets. Remove from the fridge for 10-15 minutes before enjoying for the best texture.

Notes

Adding coconut oil helps thin the chocolate, making it smoother and easier to coat the dates. If you’re not a fan of the taste or smell of coconut (like me!), opt for refined coconut oil—it’s processed to remove both and leaving you with a neutral flavor.
