Ham, Cheese + Veggie Sliders
I was looking for a quick recipe to throw together to make these ahead of time for a big road trip. I just kept finding ham + cheese on bread. It was all so…brown. How could I add veggies? I decided to start from scratch + do what I do best…create my own recipe! Perfect for meal prep, they’re easy to make in advance and ideal for road trips, parties, or picnics. The combination of savory ham, gooey cheese, and fresh vegetables makes each bite a deliciously balanced snack.

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Grease a 9x13 casserole dish with a bit of butter.
- Separate the bottoms from the rolls and place in the bottom of the casserole dish.
- Layer half of your cheese on top.
- Layer your thinly sliced red onion on top of that.
- Now for your ham, you can add as much or as little as you’d like.
- Spread your spinach on top of the ham.
- Now layer in the remaining cheese and place the tops on your rolls.
- Utilizing a basting brush, brush on your topping. Don’t dump extra liquid into casserole dish or your bottoms will get soggy.
- Place in oven until heated through and tops slightly brown, about 20 minutes.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes and then carefully take a knife and cut each roll apart within the casserole dish.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
I wrap 2 or 3 at a time in parchment paper and tuck them into a gallon sized bag. Then I store them upside down in the fridge and reheat them in the microwave when we would like them. They’re also not bad cold!!
