Easy Chickpea Burgers
This chickpea burger is one of the easiest and best veggie burgers I've made! It holds up well has lots of flavour and is packed with plant-based protein and fibre. It all comes together in a food processor, making clean-up a breeze.
Ingredients
- 540 ml540 ml540 ml Chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 clove1 clove1 clove Garlic

- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

- 1 pinch1 pinch1 pinch Salt and Pepper, to taste
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Cumin, Ground

- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Turmeric

- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Parsley, Dried

- 0.333 cup0.333 cup0.333 cup Oats, Rolled
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Water
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Tahini
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Breadcrumbs

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- To a food processor, combine all ingredients together and pulse for 10 seconds. Scrape down the sides and continue to pulse until it is sticky and holds together, but there are still some chunks remaining.
- Use a large spoon to scoop up the chickpea mixture and roll into balls, then flatten slightly with your hand to form a patty.
- Heat up a frying pan on medium heat with oil, and cook the burgers for about 5 minutes on each side. Cook until they become a golden brown colour, a total of about 10-15 minutes.
- Assemble your burger by adding the condiment of choice to your bun. Then add lettuce, tomato, cheese, your chickpea patty, and spread ILIOS artichoke bruschetta to one side of your bun.
Notes
How to store: place in an airtight container for up to 5-6 days.
