Gluten Free Puff Pastry Snowflakes
The moment I found gluten free puff pastry, I couldn't resist taking it home with me. It is the kind of ingredient that doesn't need much to feel special, but brings magic to anything you make with it. This dessert is easy, festive and lets the puff pastry do all the work. Use any cute cookie cutters you love and switch them up with the seasons. I also use my favorite non toxic baking sheets for this recipe and reach for them every single day in my kitchen.

- Keep the puff pastry cold as you work. Unroll it and lay it flat on a clean surface. If it cracks, gently press it back together.
- Use a snowflake cutter or any shape you like to cut the pastry. Place the pieces on a lined baking sheet, leaving space so they do not touch.
- If the dough starts to warm up, transfer the tray to the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes to chill before baking and before the egg wash..
- Whisk together 1 egg with 1 tablespoon water to make the egg wash.
- Brush a light layer of egg wash over each pastry shape.
- Bake the chilled puff pastry at 400°F until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes. Start checking at 15 minutes and look for an even golden color.
- Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar and enjoy warm. For an extra treat, dip in melted chocolate or nutella.
