Apple & Honey Doughnuts
Fall is here, my friends! Celebrate with these delicious baked apple and honey doughnuts.
Ingredients
Doughnut Batter
- 2 cups2 cups2 cups Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour (Bob's Red Mill)
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Baking Powder
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- .5 tsp.5 tsp.5 tsp Kosher Salt
- .5 cup.5 cup.5 cup Brown Sugar, lightly packed
- .5 cup.5 cup.5 cup Milk, or non-dairy alternative
- .5 cup.5 cup.5 cup unsweetened Applesauce
- .25 cup.25 cup.25 cup Honey
- 111 Egg, large
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter, melted
Coating
- .25 cup.25 cup.25 cup Granulated White Sugar
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Ground Cinnamon

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Preheat the oven to 400F.
- In a bowl, combine the gluten free flour, baking powder, and spices.
- In a separate container, combine the dark brown sugar, milk, apple sauce, honey, egg, and melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and combine until homogenous. Let the batter rest for at least five minutes.
- This recipe is super satisfying if you use a doughnut tin, but mini muffin tins work just as well! Using a piping bag or Ziploc, evenly pipe the batter into the tins. Bake the doughnuts for 10 minutes. While they bake, combine the granulated sugar with a touch of cinnamon and reserve. When the doughnuts are finished baking, let them rest for 2-3 minutes before carefully coating in the cinnamon sugar.
