Brown Butter Garlic Sweet Potato Mash
Sweet potatoes are a healthy root vegetable that we are always looking to make taste great. I have found that easy way to make them perfect. A rich, creamy & flavourful recipe that will absolutely blow your mind. Also, a perfect substitute for mashed potatoes. Ingredients
- 5 whole5 whole5 whole Sweet Potato, Chopped in small cubes
- 0.5 cups0.5 cups0.5 cups Salted Butter, Melted
- 4 - 54 - 54 - 5 Thyme, Dried or fresh
- 2 cloves2 cloves2 cloves Garlic
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Heavy Cream (Whipping Cream)
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Paprika
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Sea Salt, To taste (as much as little as you need)
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Black Pepper, Taste

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Steam or boil your sweet potatoes for 8-10 mins or until fork tender.
- Add your butter, garlic and thyme to your pan and cook on medium low for 8-10 mins until brown (NOT BURNT - you don’t want to burn the garlic)
- once your potatoes are done cooking, in your stand mixer add them in along with your spices, whipping cream and half of your melted butter and garlic. Remove thyme to sage for garnish.
- Whip for 30-45 seconds, plate your mash and top with leftover butter, garlic and thyme.
