Classic Chewy Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookie.
I have spent countless hours on making the simplest chocolate chip cookie that have a good chew, but also a crisp edge. These cookies take little to no time to make and you'll have all your family and friends wanting more. Not to mention, every bite will give your mouth a burst of chocolate.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Butter, Salted, 1 Stick

- 0.50 cup0.50 cup0.50 cup Brown Sugar, 125g
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Granulated White Sugar, 50g

- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Egg, Room Temp.
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Egg Yolk, Room Temp.
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Vanilla Extract

- 1.25 cup1.25 cup1.25 cup All Purpose Flour, 150g
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Cornstarch
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Baking Soda
- 0.25 tsp0.25 tsp0.25 tsp Baking Powder

- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Salt

- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Baking Chocolate Chips, (Semi-Sweet) Add more if you want

- 200 grams200 grams200 grams 100% Cacao Unsweetened Baking Chocolate Bar, Dark or Milk Chocolate

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- In a pan, add your butter and simmer on low heat for about 10-15 mins.
- Once you see little brown bits form, butter is done.
- Let butter cool for about 5 mins while you start getting your ingredients ready.
- In a large bowl, add your melted brown butter & sugars.
- Mix until it forms a gritty paste.
- Add your whole egg, plus the yolk and your vanilla.
- Mix until it turns a lighter brown.
- Add your all your dry ingredients and leavening agents.
- Using a rubber spatula, fold until you see no dry spots.
- Do not over mix.
- Add your chocolate chips and chopped chocolate and fold in.
- Scoop out dough using a cookie scoop into 16 cookie dough balls.
- Roll to smoothen out.
- Refrigerate for about 30 mins.
- Into a preheated 350F oven, space cookie dough balls onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 mins (Some ovens run hotter than others)
- While cookies are still hot, add more chocolate chips on top, not only for the aesthetic but for a more chocolatey bite.
- Add a pinch of flakey salt to balance the flavour.
