Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Preheat oven to 350℉.
- Take your donut tray, and brush/spray it with oil. Set aside. (You can use olive oil or coconut oil).
- In a medium sized bowl, add melted vegan butter, packed brown sugar and white granulated sugar together and mix with a hand mixer (you can also use a whisk) until well combined.
- Next, add applesauce, almond milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to your bowl and mix with a hand mixer until all ingredients are combined.
- Add your flour and baking powder and continue to mix with hand mixer until no flour remains.
- Use a piping bag or plastic bag (make sure to cut one of the corners to use as piping bag if using plastic bag) and scoop your batter into the bag. Pipe the batter into each donut mold and fill 3/4 of it. You want to leave some room for them to become fluffy when they bake. Repeat for remaining batter. Place in the oven and let cook for 15 minutes.
- Preparing your cinnamon sugar coating
- While your donuts are baking, prepare the cinnamon sugar coating. In one bowl, melt your vegan butter and set aside.
- In a second bowl, mix together the cinnamon and white granulated sugar together.
- Once your donuts have baked, let them cool for about 10 minutes on a wire rack.
- Take your donut, dip both sides in the melted butter, then dip donut in the cinnamon sugar mixture and coat evenly. Place back on wire rack and repeat for the other donuts.
- Enjoy!
