Gluten-Free Almond Halwa

Ingredients
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Ghee

- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Almond Flour

- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Whole Milk
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Cane Sugar
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Almonds, Sliced
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Saffron, strands soaked in 2 T
- 4 whole4 whole4 whole Cardamom Pods, crushed, can substitute with ground cardamom

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Warm ghee in a thick bottomed pan
- While the ghee is heating up, soak saffron strands in 2 Tbsp warm milk
- Add the almond flour and roast it in the ghee on medium heat till it becomes slightly roasted.
- Once roasted add the milk and whisk it in making sure no lumps form
- Let it all cook together for 5 mins
- Soak saffron strands in 2 Tbsp warm milk
- Add the sugar and give it all a good mix
- Mix in the saffron soaked milk along with the saffron
- Let it all cook till the ghee separates which should be in less than 10mins. Make sure to keep stirring till the ghee separates to avoid burning
- Finally add the chopped nuts and serve it warm
Notes
Make sure to cook the almond flour on low to medium heat and constantly stir as it can burn easily
