Season Your Bagel Chips (Optional)

  1. This step is optional, but I love giving my bagel chips an extra boost of flavor! In a medium mixing bowl, coat your bagel chips with a little olive oil, 3/4 tsp of French onion seasoning, and 1/4 tsp of garlic powder. Toss well to evenly coat. *NOTE: If you’re making your own bagel chips, use the recipe linked in the intro above and swap the plain spices for the French onion seasoning and garlic powder.

Make the Chex Mix

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chex cereal, bagel chips, and pretzels. Gently toss to mix.
  3. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Once fully melted, stir in 3 tbsp of French onion seasoning, 3/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp salt, and 3 tbsp worcestershire sauce. Mix until combined.
  4. Slowly drizzle the butter mixture over the snack mix, tossing gently to ensure everything is evenly coated.
  5. Spread the snack mix evenly onto a large baking sheet. If it doesn’t all fit, use two baking sheets or bake in batches to ensure everything cooks evenly!
  6. Bake for 60 minutes, tossing every 15 minutes. At the 30-minute mark, give it a taste. If desired, add 1 tsp of french onion seasoning, 1/4 tsp of salt, and 1 to 2 tsps of worcestershire sauce. Toss again to blend. Taste and season as needed throughout the baking process if you prefer a bolder flavor, repeating as many times as you’d like.
  7. Remove from the oven, let cool, and enjoy!

Notes

Easily keep this gluten free chex mix recipe dairy free by simply swapping the butter out for your favorite dairy free butter alternative. If you love nuts in your snack mix, feel free to toss some in! You can reduce the pretzels and bagel chips by 1/2 cup each and replace them with 1 cup of your favorite nuts—or just add however much feels right to you. Just keep in mind that the more mix-ins you add, the more you’ll want to adjust the seasonings to ensure every bite is packed with flavor!
