Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. On the stovetop or microwave, steam the broccoli florets for 2-3 minutes or until bright green. Place the broccoli in the prepared pan and set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the flour. Cook for 1 minute and then whisk in the milk, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook until the mixture has thickened. This should take approximately 3-5 minutes.
  5. Add in half of the parmesan cheese and mix until fully melted and smooth.
  6. Pour the garlic parmesan sauce over the steamed broccoli.
  7. In a small mixing bowl, combine the bread crumbs, remaining parmesan cheese, and olive oil and mix.
  8. Spread the bread crumb mixture over the top of the broccoli and sauce and bake for 15-20 minutes or until bubbling and golden. If you like a super crispy top, broil it for 1 minute. Enjoy!
