Homemade Goldfish (Edit recipe)

These Homemade Goldfish taste just as good, if not BETTER than store-bought goldfish crackers, but made without the processed junk and additives. This is a great snack idea that can double as an activity for your little ones - my boys love helping me make these. I like to use einkorn flour as it’s nutrient dense, easily digestible, and rich in protein.

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Using a food processor, pulse shredded cheese and butter until smooth.
  2. Add flour and salt. Pulse until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  3. Add ice cold water and pulse until the mixture resembles dough.
  4. Add to a bowl, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out dough (about 1/8”) on parchment or silicone lined baking sheet. Using a goldfish shaped cookie cutter, cut out shapes using as much of the dough as you can.
  6. You can bake as is and snack on baked scraps OR gather the scraps, re-roll the dough, and cut out more cracker shapes until all of the dough is used up.
  7. Bake the crackers at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until slightly golden. Total cook time may be less or more depending on the thickness of your crackers!
  8. Store in an air-tight container for a few days or the fridge for a few weeks and ENJOY!
