Paleo Tamarind Date Chutney (Sweet Indian Chutney)
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Tamarind Paste, or concentrate (buy a brand with no added sugars if paleo)
- 5-65-65-6 Medjool Dates, whole, pitted (or 6-7 Tbsp Just Date Syrup)
- .25 tsp.25 tsp.25 tsp Salt, (adjust to your liking)

- .5 tsp.5 tsp.5 tsp Cumin, Ground, ground

- .5.5.5 Fennel, ground
- .5 cup.5 cup.5 cup Water
- pinch pinch pinch Cayenne Pepper, or red chili powder

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Place tamarind paste, pitted dates (or just date syrup), and water on a pot on medium heat. Bring to a slight boil.
- Once boiling, add in salt, fennel, and cumin. Reduce heat and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Once dates have softened and everything is well combined, take the pot off of the heat and let cool.
- Once cooled, pour the contents of the pot into a blender or use an immersion blender to completely blend.
- Taste, and add extra dates, salt, and/or spices if necessary.
- Store in an airtight jar for up to a week in the fridge.
- Serve with paleo samosas, paleo papdi chaat, or use as a dip, dressing, or marinade for anything you like!
