    Process

    Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Add butter and sugar in a mixing bowl, and use an electric or hand held mixer to beat until creamy and light yellow. Scrap down the side.
    3. Add egg and vanilla, and mix until just combined.
    4. In another bowl, add flour, baking powder, and sea salt, and whisk together.
    5. Add dry ingredients to wet, and mix on low speed until just combined and a soft dough forms.
    6. If the dough is sticky, chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
    7. Scoop the dough into 2 tablespoon portions and roll into a ball. Place on the prepare baking sheets at least 2 inches apart.
    8. Press down gently with your hands to flatten slightly to about 1/2 inch thick.
    9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the centers are just set.
    10. Cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
    11. While the cookies are cooling, use the edible marker to write on the circular white sprinkles any friendship bracelet message you like. I wrote on the back of candy eyes.
    12. Once the cookies have cooled completely, make the icing by combining powdered sugar, light corn syrup, 1 tbsp milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl. You want the icing to be a pretty thick consistency, but you can add a bit more milk to thin it out, if needed.
    13. Use a small spoon to frost the tops of the cookies, then immediately add sprinkles to resemble friendship bracelets.
    14. Let it sit out for a few hours so the icing sets completely, then store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

    Notes

    • For decorating the cookies, you'll need:
      • colorful sprinkles, for bracelet "beads" - Check out stores like Michaels or Party City
      • white flat circular sprinkles, or candy eyes (I used the back of the candy eyes for the letters)
      • edible black marker
    • The icing on these cookies will harden enough to be able to stack. I do recommend placing a parchment paper in between each layer just in case the icing bleeds into each other.
