Viral Date Bark (Edit recipe)

The date bark recipe has been trending a while ago, and I finally got around to trying it. If you haven't made it yet, let this be your sign! It is incredibly easy to make, has the perfect sweet and salty flavour, and makes the perfect sweet treat you can stash in your freezer.

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Line a small baking tray with parchment paper. Split dates open and press each one down, making sure they overlap slightly so they stick together. You can add another piece of parchment paper over the dates and use a rolling pin to flatten the date layer.
  2. Drizzle peanut butter overtop the dates, and spread evenly.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips with coconut oil in 25-30 second increments in the microwave, stirring in between until melted. Pour the melted chocolate and spread it out evenly.
  4. Top with flaky salt, and place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes, until the chocolate has set. Remove from the freezer, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

How to store: keep the date bark squares in an airtight container in the freezer for up to one month.
