Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Place a 4 qt pot on stovetop.
  2. Roughly chop the peppers, onions and mince the garlic. Set aside.
  3. In the 4 qt pot brown the ground turkey or beef until no longer pink and liquid is evaporated. If using ground beef drain any extra fat.
  4. Add 1 tbsp of the chili powder and mix into the meat.
  5. Add peppers, onions, garlic stir well.
  6. Add the can of beans with juices, and the tomato sauce.
  7. Add 1 Tbsp of white vinegar and remaining 1 tbsp of the chili powder, salt and pepper.
  8. Stir well and bring to a simmer for 10 min.
  9. Stir again and adjust seasonings, adding more chili powder, salt and pepper if needed.
  10. Continue to simmer until the peppers are tender about another 10 min.
  11. Enjoy with your favorite toppings.

Notes

The chili may seem dry at first but as the peppers and onions cook down it will release their juices and help the chili come together. If you find it's still a bit dry you can add more, sauce or some water to the pot. For more added flavor you can add a few tablespoons of beer or coffee.
