Rotini with Italian Sausage, Tomatoes and Fresh Basil
In less than 30 minutes, this Easy One-Pot Rotini with Italian sausage can be whipped up for a quick and delicious weeknight, studded with fresh grape tomatoes and basil.
Ingredients
- 1 lb1 lb1 lb Rotini

- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Kosher Salt

- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Olive Oil

- 1 lb1 lb1 lb Sweet Italian Sausage, chicken or pork, ground

- 6 cloves6 cloves6 cloves Garlic, minced

- 1 pint1 pint1 pint Tomato, Grape
- 10-12 whole10-12 whole10-12 whole Basil, Fresh, leaves, chopped

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Bring a large pot with 4 quarts of water to boil over medium high heat on the stove top.
- Once the water boils, add in salt and rotini pasta and stir to combine. Cook pasta until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Return the same pot back to the stovetop and reduce the heat to medium. Add olive oil and Italian sausage and cook until the sausage is just browned, about 6-8 minutes.
- Add in grape tomatoes and minced garlic and cook another 3-4 minutes until the tomatoes start to burst.
- Add fresh basil and cooked pasta and toss to combine.
- Serve with extra fresh basil or parmesan cheese if desired.
