“take 5” protein bites
in all honesty, i’ve never had a real “take 5”… but after making these, i’m not sure i need to. 😌🍫🥨
peanut butter, chocolate, crunchy pretzels, & gooey caramel energy — all packed into these protein bites made with BTR nation superfood peanut butter crunch bars, fit joy's grain-free peanut butter pretzel nuggets, & a rich further food's protein + LMNT salted caramel that brings it all together.
sweet, salty, crunchy, chocolatey… everything you want in a candy bar, just upgraded with more protein, fiber, no sugar, no gluten, & just better-for-you ingredients.
safe to say this recreation is an absolute knockout. 💥
Ingredients
protein caramel
- 1/4 cup1/4 cup1/4 cup Butter, Unsalted

- 1/2 cup1/2 cup1/2 cup Golden Monkfruit Sweetener (with Allulose) - Lakanto

- 1/2 cup1/2 cup1/2 cup Chocolate Collagen - Further Food, or vanilla collagen

- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Peanut Butter, or nut butter of choice

- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

- 1/2 tsp1/2 tsp1/2 tsp Organic Maple Extract, optional
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Chocolate Caramel Salt Electrolyte Mix - LMNT, or 1 t sea salt

clusters
- 3 - 43 - 43 - 4 Peanut Butter Crunch Protein + Superfood Bar - B.T.R. Nation, or BTR bar of choice

- 0.25 - 0.5 cup0.25 - 0.5 cup0.25 - 0.5 cup Peanuts, or nuts/seeds of choice, chopped
- 10 oz10 oz10 oz Grain Free Filled Pretzel Nuggets, Peanut Butter - Fit Joy, or the chocolate pb flavor

for dipping
- 1.5 cups1.5 cups1.5 cups Sugar-Free Dark Chocolate Chips

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- preheat oven to 350.
- in a sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter & brown.
- stir in remaining “protein caramel” ingredients & mix until everything is dissolved.
- in a bowl, combine crumbled BTR bars (microwave for 15-20 seconds & crumble), nuts/seeds of choice, & fit joy pretzels.
- pour protein caramel into bowl & combine.
- in a silicon muffin tin, add a scoop or caramel cluster to each divot.
- bake for 8-10 minutes.
- remove from oven, cool for 10-15 minutes, then freeze for 1-2 hours.
- remove from freezer & pop out of silicon molds.
- to a bowl, add chocolate chips & microwave in 30 second intervals until melted.
- dip each cluster into chocolate, then place on a lined sheet pan.
- freeze until set & enjoy!
