Blackberry Simple Syrup
This syrup pairs well with Matchas, Iced Coffee, and Mocktails. As well as used for cold foam! A little goes a long way.
Ingredients
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Blackberries
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Water
- 0.75 cup0.75 cup0.75 cup Granulated White Sugar
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Vanilla Extract
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- In a small pot add water, sugar and blackberries
- Turn the heat to high until the water boils
- Once it starts to boil turn the heat to medium and stir until the sugar is fully dissolved
- Let this mixture simmer for 10 minutes
- After 10 minutes, take the pot off the heat
- Grab a Mason jar or any glass jar that can be sealed tightly
- Take a small strainer and pour the mixture through the strainer into the jar
- Firmly use a spoon to apply pressure to the blackberries and juice them until they are mainly flat
- **Save your mashed fruit to use later
- Lastly, add your vanilla extract to the jar
- Once it's fully cooled you can store this sealed tight container in the fridge for up to 14 days.
Notes
Pro-tip save the mashed/boiled blackberries to add on top of Pancakes, French toast and Yogurt.
