- Soften: Leave the butter out at room temperature until it is completely spreadable.
- Prep: Give the chive blossoms a gentle rinse and pat them dry. Carefully pluck the purple florets from the base of the flower head. Finely chop your green chives.
- Combine: In a mixing bowl, blend the softened butter, chopped chives, chive blossom petals, and sea salt together using a spatula until evenly incorporated.
- Shape & Chill: Spoon the mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper and roll it into a neat log. Twist the ends of the parchment paper and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours until the butter is firm enough to slice.
- Optional Add-Ins: A dash of fresh cracked black pepper, or a pinch of lemon zest.
- Usage: Slice a medallion of the butter and melt it over a warm baked potato, grilled steak, or fresh corn on the cob. It is also incredible spread on freshly toasted sourdough bread.
- Storage: Store the wrapped log in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 weeks, or freeze it tightly wrapped for up to 4-6 months so you can enjoy a taste of spring into the winter.
