Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Spice Banana Bread
This recipe came about as I had three ripe bananas on my counter and I have a firm rule, no banana goes to waste!!
And with it being fall time right around the corner , it was a fun twist !
Ingredients
- 3 whole3 whole3 whole Banana, Smashed some lumps are okay
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Butter, Unsalted, Melted

- 0.75 cup0.75 cup0.75 cup Brown Sugar, packed in the cup
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Egg
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

- 1.5 cups1.5 cups1.5 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1.5 tsp1.5 tsp1.5 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice

- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Salt

- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Baking Chocolate Chips, Milk Chocolate

- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Brown Sugar, crumbled on top

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Heat the oven to 350°F. Grease the loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mash the bananas in a large bowl.
- Stir in the melted butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla.
- Add the flour, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice and salt.
- Gently stir only until the flour disappears—don’t overmix!
- Fold in chocolate chips or walnuts, if using.
- Pour the batter into the pan, keeping it no more than about ¾ full.
- Mix the topping ingredients and sprinkle them evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, checking around 52 minutes. ( mine was perfect at 54 minutes but depends on your oven so keep an eye!)
- If the top becomes too dark, loosely cover it with foil.
- It’s finished when a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs but no wet batter.
- Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a rack and cool for another 20–30 minutes.
- I suggest storing in a bread bag that can close, or wrapping in some cling wrap to hold in that moisture!
